On behalf of Maria Kane, Joint Chief Executive, we would like to welcome you to University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.
Bristol Arrival and Registration Instructions:
Please arrive at the Education and Research Centre, Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol, BS2 8AE, for registration beginning at 0800 AM.
Registration will take place in Lecture Theatre One of this building. Please be reminded to bring some official picture Identification (passport, driver’s licence, etc.) to help speed the registration process.
NQN schedule – start and end times:
You will be provided with more specific timings after your arrival on Monday, but the start/end times shown below are accurate for your planning.
- Monday 0800 – 1700 (Registration, Welcome, Resuscitation, etc.)
- Tuesday A Moving and Handling (M&H) familiarisation session may be scheduled on Tuesday, for inductees who have accomplished level 2 full patient moving & handling at UHBW within the past two-year period (refer to Passporting information below).
- Wednesday 1330 – 1600 (M&H session – specific for the majority of NQNs)
As separate assessments will determine which M&H session an NQN will attend, and decisions may not be final until Monday, ‘day one’ of induction, managers of NQNs must not plan, with certainty, that their new starter will be available until after 1600 on Wednesday. Balancing expected high induction intake numbers with relative training capacity and the necessity to accomplish M&H training, managers may be asked to consider sending some NQNs to other level 2 M&H training dates – offered beyond Wednesday of induction week. Managers are asked to remain flexible in their scheduling of NQNs, should this situation arise.
‘Passporting’ prior mandatory/statutory training:
The Trust is keen to ‘passport’ previously completed mandatory/statutory training from a previous organisation onto your UHBW training record, providing it meets necessary criteria.
Core skills training records can only be accepted if they are from a recognisable NHS health body. If accepted, the records will be validated and transferred to your UHBW learning account after your start date and will reduce the number of topics you will need to complete.
If you have any records to submit, please do so via this form https://forms.office.com/e/pYYgjLqPPi – if you have any questions about this form please contact Passporting@uhbw.nhs.uk
Covid-19 Instructions:
Do not attend registration if you test positive for Covid, in which case you should self-isolate and contact us. We will arrange an alternative start date.
