The Adult Therapy Service consists of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy and Nutrition & Dietetics all working collaboratively together to optimise patient care and deliver an efficient and patient centred service, to minimise patients time away from home.
As a teaching hospital, we are actively involved in research and have an extremely supportive culture throughout the department. This culture gives you and amazing, well-rounded start to your career!
We have excellent training and supervision programmes for all staff, including a preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff to help support your transition from student to a qualified Therapist!
Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages with a wide range of problems resulting from physical, mental, social or developmental difficulties.
OTs support people to enable them to return to or optimise participation in all the things that people do; for example, caring for themselves and others, working, learning, playing and interacting with others. Being deprived of or having limited access to any or all of these occupations can affect physical and psychological health and hence OTs positively impact upon the wellbeing and rehabilitation of patients in most care pathways and in the broader public health and social care environment.

Speech & Language Therapist
Our speech and language therapists provide life-changing treatment for children & adults who have difficulties with communication, eating, drinking and swallowing.
Patients can range from children with slow developing speech, to adults whose ability to speech has been impaired.
Physiotherapist
Our Physiotherapists help with a range of problems which affect movement. They help with techniques.
The Physiotherapist will treat people with physical problems that have been caused by illness, injury, disability and other contributing factors. They aim to identify and maximise patients movement, alongside promoting good health and how to avoid future injuries.
Nutrition & Dietetics
Nutritionists & Dietetics are the only qualified health professionals who assess, diagnose and treat diet and nutritional problems at an individual and wider public health level.
Uniquely, dietitians use the most up–to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease, which they translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
